Tree pose is a wonderful pose that teaches balance while toning the muscles of the legs.
This elegant pose is not as easy as it looks, but over time it builds tremendous inner and outer strength and a great feeling of accomplishment as you learn to balance on one leg.
The pose is very good for stretching many muscles of the body, including the hamstring, thigh and back. On top of that, this pose helps to stimulates the digestive system.
While this pose can be challenging for those with tight muscles, it will help promote balance, stretch the hamstrings and inner thighs, and create a feeling of expansion in the body.
Mr Rama has been teaching hatta yoga to our devotees since 2014. Yoga classes comes under the umbrella of the BMV Senior Club as a health activity for the senior devotees of Buddhist Maha Vihara who are 50 years. Classes first started on 3rd April 2014 on Thursday nights. Tuesday morning classes started on 3rd November 2018.
Classes are held at the Dewan Asoka, Wisma Dharma Cakra. Hatta yoga places special emphasis on controlled breathing and posture. Building core strength, which is key to good posture and improving flexibility which is important for our senior devotees.
