Feeding The Needy

This is CIA’s first project which began in September 2010. Under this project, we provide meals to the needy and under privileged in central Kuala Lumpur area. As of to date, there are around 120-170 people collecting meals from us on weekly basis. Each person gets a meal set consisting of one packet of vegetarian rice or noodle, a loaf of bread and a bottle of mineral water. Meals distribution is carried out every Sunday, rain or shine, from 6pm to 6.30pm, at open car park located next to Bursa Malaysia (KLSE).
In July 2012, we expanded meal distribution to Charis Shelter Home, a shelter home for seniors in Pudu Pasar area. This year April, we start providing meal to Trinity Children Home in Petaling Jaya.
How do we run the project?

  • we require a total of 5 volunteer drivers every Sunday
  • 3 volunteer drivers to collect and deliver to open car park either
  • 150 pack meals from Buddhist Maha Vihara kitchen or
  • 7 to 10 boxes of mineral water from Buddhist Maha Vihara office or
  • 170 pack of bread from assigned bakery
  • 2 volunteer drivers to collect from Buddhist Maha Viahra either
  • 23 pack meals delivering to Charis Shelter Home in Pudu by 5.30pm or
  • 25 pack meals delivering to Trinity Children Home PJ by 7pm

For open-car park distribution point, volunteer drivers must deliver the three (3) items by 5.45pm for the items to setup and ready distributing at 6.00pm sharp rain or shine. Volunteer drivers also help in distributing the items.
Volunteer drivers follow a weekly rotational basis schedule according to their selected dates. All new volunteer drivers will be guided on their collections until they are familiar.
Come and join us! We do require a pool of volunteer drivers to enable this project this project to operate on a rotational basis. If you have 2 hours to spare on a Sunday and love to help the needy, do join us.
