Transferring merits involves dedicating the positive energy generated from virtuous actions to benefit others, particularly those who have passed away.
In the Buddhist worldview, it is believed that such dedications can alleviate the suffering of departed souls and contribute to their spiritual progress. During the Maha Sanghika Dana ceremony, we offer food, clothing, and other necessities to Sangha (monks) in memory of our departed loved ones. Through the collective act of giving, we honor their legacy and express our gratitude for the impact they have had on our lives.
